عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّلِيلِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ سَمَّاهُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ
أَنَّهُ: أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: " مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ " قَالَ: أَنَا الَّذِي أَتَيْتُكَ عَامَ الْأَوَّلِ قَالَ: " كَأَنَّكَ كُنْتَ أَجْسَمَ مِمَّا أَجِدُ أَوْ أَحْسَنَ جِسْمًا مِمَّا أَرَى، قَالَ: مَا طَعِمْتُ مُنْذُ فَارَقْتُكَ إِلَّا لَيْلًا، فَقَالَ: " مَنْ أَمَرَكَ تُعَذِّبُ نَفْسَكَ ؟ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتِ "، قَالَ: إِنِّي أَقْوَى قَالَ: " فَصُمْ شَهْرَ الصَّبْرِ، وَيَوْمًا مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ "، قَالَ: إِنِّي أَقْوَى قَالَ: " فَصُمْ صَوْمَ الشَّهْرِ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ "، قَالَ: إِنِّي أَقْوَى قَالَ: " فَصُمْ مِنَ الْحُرُمِ، وَأَفْطِرْ
Translation
✧ He came to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: “Who are you?” He said: “I am the one who came to you last year.” He said: “You seem to have been sturdier than I find you now, or better in body than I see you now.” He said: “I have not eaten except at night since I left you.” He said: “Who commanded you to torment yourself? — three times.” He said: “I am strong.” He said: “Then fast the month of patience and one day of every month.” He said: “I am stronger.” He said: “Then fast the month and three days of every month.” He said: “I am stronger.” He said: “Then fast the sacred months and break the fast.”
