✧ Fasting on the Day of Ashura

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:
كُنَّا نُؤْمَرُ بِصِيَامِ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ صِيَامُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ كَانَ مَنْ شَاءَ صَامَهَ، وَمَنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَهُ
Translation
✧ We used to be commanded to fast the day of Ashura, so when the fast of the month of Ramadan was sent down, whoever wished fasted it, and whoever wished left it.
