machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Maʿmar, from Ayyūb, from Ibn Sīrīn, who said:
✧ Abu al-Darda' used to keep the night of Friday alive in worship and fast its day. Salman came to him — and the Prophet ﷺ had made them brothers — and he stayed the night with him. Abu al-Darda' wanted to get up for his night prayer, but Salman went to him and did not leave him until he slept and broke his fast. He said: Then Abu al-Darda' came to the Prophet ﷺ and told him, and the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Uwaymir, Salman knows better than you. Do not single out the night of Friday for prayer, nor its day for fasting.'
