✧ Breaking a voluntary fast and fasting it if one did not intend it at night

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ،
أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، وَأَبَا طَلْحَةَ كَانَا يُصْبِحَانِ مُفْطِرَيْنِ، فَيَقُولَانِ: " هَلْ مِنْ طَعَامٍ ؟ فَيَجِدَانِهِ، أَوْ لَا يَجِدَانِهِ فَيُتِمَّانِ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ
Translation
✧ Abu Hurayrah and Abu Talhah would enter the morning not fasting, and they would say: 'Is there any food?' If they found it [they ate], or if they did not find it, they would complete that day [fasting].
