✧ Breaking a voluntary fast and fasting it if one did not intend it at night

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ،
أَنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ كَانَ يَأْتِي أَهْلَهُ فَيَقُولُ: " هَلْ مِنْ غَدَاءٍ ؟ فَإِنْ قَالُوا: لَا، صَامَ يَوْمَهُ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: " فَكَانَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
Translation
✧ Abu Talhah would come to his family and say: Is there any midday meal? If they said no, he would fast that day. Qatadah said: Muadh b. Jabal used to do that.
