✧ The sick person in Ramadan and his making up the fast

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يَقُولُ:
يُطْعِمُ مَكَانَ الشَّهْرِ الَّذِي مَضَى، مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّهُ صَحَّ، وَفَرَّطَ فِي قَضَائِهِ حَتَّى أَدْرَكَهُ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ "، قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: كَمْ بَلَغَكَ يُطْعِمُ ؟ قَالَ: " مُدٌّ، زَعَمُوا
Translation
✧ He feeds in place of the month that has passed, because he recovered and neglected to make it up until Ramadan reached him. I said to Ata: 'How much have you heard he should feed?' He said: 'A mudd, they claimed.'
