✧ Wiping over the leather socks

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ:

رَأَيْتُ جَرِيرًا يَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مِطْهَرَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: وَمَا يَمْنَعُنِي ؟ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، يَفْعَلُهُ

Translation

✧ I saw Jarir performing ablution from the mosque's water container and wiping over his leather socks. He was asked about that, and he said: What prevents me? I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ doing it.
