✧ The use of siwak for the fasting person

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: مَا يُنْهَى عَنْهُ مِنَ السِّوَاكِ ؟ قَالَ: إِنْ كَانَ السِّوَاكُ يَابِسًا لَا يَأْتِي مِنْهُ مَاءٌ، قُلْتُ: مَا الَّذِي يُقَالُ مَاءُ السِّوَاكِ ؟ قَالَ: " الرِّيقُ الَّذِي يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ يَأْتِي مِنْ قِبَلِ الرَّأْسِ وَالْفَمِ "، قُلْتُ: فَإِنْ كَانَ السِّوَاكُ يَابِسًا لَا عُصَارَةَ لَهُ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ
Translation
✧ I said to Ata: 'What is discouraged regarding the siwak?' He said: 'If the siwak is dry and no moisture comes from it.' I said: 'What is meant by the moisture of the siwak?' He said: 'The saliva that is on it, coming from the head and the mouth.' I said: 'What if the siwak is dry and has no sap?' He said: 'Yes.'
