✧ Those who invalidate the fast and those who eat intentionally in Ramadan

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،
أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ! هَلَكْتُ قَالَ: " وَمَا ذَاكَ ؟ " قَالَ: وَاقَعْتُ أَهْلِي فِي رَمَضَانَ قَالَ: " أَتَجِدُ رَقَبَةً "، قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: " أَتَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تَصُومَ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ ؟ " قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: " فَأَطْعِمْ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا "، قَالَ: لَا أَجِدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ: " فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِعَرَقٍ فِيهِ تَمْرٌ - وَالْعَرَقُ الْمِكْتَلُ - قَالَ: اذْهَبْ فَتَصَدَّقْ بِهَذَا "، قَالَ: أَعَلَى أَفْقَرَ مِنِّي، فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ أَحْوَجُ مِنِّي، فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " اذْهَبْ بِهِ إِلَى أَهْلِكَ
Translation
✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, I am ruined. He said: "And what is that?" He said: I had intercourse with my wife in Ramadan. He said: "Can you find a slave?" He said: No. He said: "Can you fast two consecutive months?" He said: No. He said: "Then feed sixty poor persons." He said: I cannot find, O Messenger of God. He said: Then the Prophet ﷺ was brought a basket (araq) of dates – and the araq is the large basket – and said: "Go and give this in charity." He said: To someone poorer than me? By the One who sent you with the truth, there is no household between its two lava fields more in need than mine. The Messenger of God ﷺ laughed, then said: "Take it to your family."
