✧ Breaking the fast on a cloudy day

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
أَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِي يَوْمٍ مُغَيَّمٍ، ثُمَّ نَظَرَ نَاظِرٌ فَإِذَا الشَّمْسُ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: الْخَطْبُ يَسِيرٌ، وَقَدِ اجْتَهَدْنَا نَقْضِي يَوْمًا
Translation
✧ The people broke their fast in the month of Ramadan on a cloudy day. Then someone looked and saw the sun. 'Umar b. al-Khattab said: 'The matter is simple; we have exercised judgment and we will make up a day.'
