✧ For Whom Is Zakat

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ:
إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لِلرَّجُلِ إِلَّا مَنْزِلٌ وَخَادِمٌ أَخَذَ الزَّكَاةَ، قَالَ: وَأَصْحَابُنَا يَقُولُونَ ذَلِكَ، وَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ لَا يَرَى عَلَى الَّذِي لَيْسَ لَهُ إِلَّا مَنْزِلٌ وَخَادِمٌ حَجًّا
Translation
✧ If a man has only a house and a servant, he may take zakat. He said: Our companions say that. And al-Hasan did not consider pilgrimage obligatory for one who has only a house and a servant.
