✧ No charity is due on the slave

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ:

إِنَّ الْمَمْلُوكَ لَا يَجُوزُ لَهُ أَنْ يُعْطِيَ مِنْ مَالِهِ أَحَدًا شَيْئًا، وَلَا يُعْتِقَ، وَلَا يَتَصَدَّقَ مِنْهُ بِشَيْءٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ سَيِّدِهِ، وَلَكِنَّهُ يَأْكُلُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ، وَيَكْتَسِي هُوَ وَوَلَدُهُ وَامْرَأَتُهُ

Translation

✧ The slave is not permitted to give anyone anything from his wealth, nor to free a slave, nor to give any of it in charity except with his master's permission. Rather, he may eat in a reasonable manner and clothe himself, his child, and his wife.
