عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
كَتَبْتُ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَكَتَبَ إِلَيَّ: جَاءَنِي كِتَابُكَ فِي الْمَتَاجِرِ، وَقَدْ قَدِمَ مِنْهُمْ رَجُلَانِ بِكِتَابٍ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ دَارِسٍ قَدْ أَمَرَ عُثْمَانُ فَجَدَّدَ لَهُمْ فِي إِحْيَاءِ بَعْضِ شِعَابِ أَهْلِ تِهَامَةَ، قَالَ: حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِقَيْسٍ أَوْ سُنْبُلَةٍ، وَقَدْ ذَكَرَ حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ " قَدِمَ صَاحِبٌ لَهُمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِسِقَاءَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا صَدَقَةٌ، وَأَحَدُهُمَا هَدِيَّةٌ، فَقَبِلَ الْهَدِيَّةَ، وَأَمَرَ بِالصَّدَقَةِ مَنْ يَقْبِضُهَا
Translation
✧ I wrote to Ibrahim b. Maysara asking him about that, and he wrote to me: Your letter about the trade routes has come to me. Two men from them arrived with a letter to Uthman b. Muhammad, claiming it was from the Prophet ﷺ, studied, and Uthman ordered it renewed for them in the revival of some of the mountain passes of the people of Tihama. He said: I think he said for Qays or Sunbula. And he mentioned, I think, that “a companion of theirs came to the Prophet ﷺ with two water-skins, one charity and one a gift. He accepted the gift and ordered the charity to be received by someone.”
