عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ اسْتَعْمَلَ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا أَبَا الْوَلِيدِ لَا تَأْتِيَنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِبَكْرَةٍ لَهَا رُغَاءٌ، وَبَقَرَةٍ لَهَا خُوَارٌ، وَشَاةٍ لَهَا يُعَارٌ "، قَالَ عُبَادَةُ: وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا أَعْمَلُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ أَبَدًا
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ appointed ʿUbāda b. al-Ṣāmit as a collector, then said: 'O Abū al-Walīd, do not come on the Day of Resurrection with a young camel that bellows, a cow that lows, or a sheep that bleats.' ʿUbāda said: 'By the One who sent you with the truth, I will never work over anything again.'
