✧ The place of charity and the delivery of charity in its proper places

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ:

لَأَنْ أَكُونَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنْ مَنَعَ صَدَقَتَهُ، فَقَالَ: " أَنَا أَضَعُهَا مَوْضِعَهَا، أَيُقَاتَلُ ؟ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ حُمْرِ النَّعَمِ "، قَالَ: " وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَرَى أَنْ يُقَاتَلَ

Translation

✧ If I had asked the Messenger of God ﷺ about one who withholds his charity, and he said: 'I put it in its proper place—is he to be fought?' That would be dearer to me than red camels. He said: 'Abu Bakr held the view that he should be fought.'
