Musannaf 'Abd al-Razzaq 6956

✧ When the required age of livestock is not available

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَالثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ:

إِذَا وَجَدَ الْمُصَدِّقُ سِنًّا فَوْقَ سِنٍّ، أَوْ دُونَ سِنٍّ رَدُّوا عَلَيْهِ مَكَانَ فَضْلِ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا عِشْرِينَ دِرْهَمًا، أَوْ شَاتَيْنِ "، قَالَ الثَّوْرِيُّ: " وَلَيْسَ هَذَا إِلَّا فِي الْإِبِلِ، فَإِذَا كَانَتْ لِلتِّجَارَةِ قُوِّمَتْ دَرَاهِمَ ".

Translation

✧ When the collector finds an age above the due age or below it, they return to him, in place of the difference between them, twenty dirhams or two sheep.” Al-Thawrī said: “This applies only to camels. But if they are for trade, they are valued in dirhams.”
