✧ The obligation of charity upon the passing of a year

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ:
كَانَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ حِينَ يُفِيدُ أَحَدُهُمُ الْمَالَ أَنْ يُخْرِجَ زَكَاتَهُ، وَإِذَا حَالَ الْحَوْلُ عَلَى مَالِهِ أَنْ يُزَكِّيَ مَعَهُ مَا لَمْ يَحُلْ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلُ مِنْ مَالِهِ ".
Translation
✧ The Muslims used to prefer, when one of them acquired wealth, to pay its zakāh, and when a year passed over his wealth, to pay zakāh on it along with what had not yet had a year pass over it.
