✧ Donkeys

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ،
أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْحُمُرِ أَفِيهَا زَكَاةٌ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، وَإِنْ بَلَغَتْ كَذَا، وَكَذَا شَيْئًا كَثِيرًا، مِائَتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَمِائَةٍ "، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: " وَنَحْنُ نَقُولُ: إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ لِتِجَارَةٍ ".
Translation
✧ He was asked about donkeys: is there zakat on them? He said: "No, even if they reach such-and-such, a great number, two hundred or three hundred." Sufyan said: "But we say: unless they are for trade."
