Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by two graves while he was on a mule, and it shied with him. He said: 'It shied, and it had a right to. The occupants of these two graves are being punished without a great sin or trial. As for this one—meaning one of them—he used not to protect himself from urine. As for this one, he used to eat people's flesh (backbite).' Then he broke a palm branch and planted one on each grave. It was said to him: 'What benefit will this be to them?' He said: 'Perhaps it will be lightened for them as long as they remain moist.'
