✧ Patience, weeping, and wailing

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

الصَّبْرُ عِنْدَ الصَّدْمَةِ الْأُولَى، وَالْعَبْرَةُ لَا يَمْلِكُهَا ابْنُ آدَمَ، صُبَابَةُ الْمَرْءِ إِلَى أَخِيهِ

Translation

✧ Patience is at the first shock, and tears are not something the son of Adam controls – the remnant of a man's affection for his brother.
