عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ:
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ: أَلَا تَقُومُ فَتُصَلِّيَ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْجِنَازَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ: إِنَّا لَقَائِمُونَ، وَمَا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا عَمَلُهُ
Translation
✧ A man came to Ali b. Abi Talib and said, 'Will you not stand and pray over this funeral?' He said, 'We are standing, and nothing prays over him except his own deeds.'
