عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ، وَغَيْرَهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ يَقُولُونَ:
كَانَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ إِنْ دَعَا رَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ، وَإِنْ صَلَّى رَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ، وَإِنْ قَرَأَ رَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ، فَشَكَاهُ أَبُو ذَرٍّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ هَذَا الْأَعْرَابِيَّ قَدْ آذَانِي، لَئِنْ دَعَا لَيَرْفَعَنَّ صَوْتَهُ، وَلَئِنْ قَرَأَ لَيَرْفَعَنَّ صَوْتَهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: دَعْهُ فَإِنَّهُ أَوَّاهٌ. قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ: فَلَمَّا كَانَتْ غَزْوَةُ تَبُوكَ رَأَيْتُ نَارَ اللَّيْلِ، فَقُلْتُ: لَآتِيَنَّ هَذَا النَّارَ فَلَأَنْظُرَنَّ مَا عِنْدَهَا، فَإِذَا جِنَازَةٌ تُجَهَّزُ، وَإِذَا رَجُلٌ فِي الْقَبْرِ، وَإِذَا هُوَ يَقُولُ: هَلُمُّوا أَدْنُوا إِلَيَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ، أَدْنُوا إِلَيَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ، فَإِذَا فِي الْقَبْرِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، وَإِذَا الْأَعْرَابِيُّ الْجِنَازَةُ.
Translation
✧ There was a man from the people of Najd who, when he supplicated, raised his voice; when he prayed, he raised his voice; and when he recited, he raised his voice. Abu Dharr complained about him to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: “O Messenger of God, this bedouin has harmed me. When he supplicates, he raises his voice; and when he recites, he raises his voice.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Leave him, for he is awwah (full of sighs).” Abu Dharr said: Then when it came to the expedition of Tabuk, I saw a fire at night, and I said: I will go to this fire and see what is around it. And there was a funeral being prepared, and a man in the grave, and he was saying: “Come, bring your companion near to me, bring your companion near to me.” And in the grave was the Prophet ﷺ, and the bedouin was the funeral.
