✧ Those Who Said One Does Not Perform Ablution from What Fire Has Touched

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ خَالِهِ قَالَ:
كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يُبَيَّتُ لَهُ فِي بَيْتِ خَالَتِهِ مَيْمُونَةَ فَيُحَدِّثُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: أَخْبِرْنِي مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: لَا أُخْبِرُكَ إِلَّا مَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، كَانَ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ فِي بَيْتِهِ، فَجَاءَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَقَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِالْبَابِ لُقِيَ بِصَحْفَةٍ فِيهَا خُبْزٌ وَلَحْمٌ فَرَجَعَ بِأَصْحَابِهِ فَأَكَلَ وَأَكَلُوا، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ
Translation
✧ Ibn Abbas would stay overnight on Friday in the house of his maternal aunt Maymunah and would narrate. A man said to him: Tell me about what fire has touched. Ibn Abbas said: I will not tell you except what I saw of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He and his companions were in his house, then the muezzin came to him and he rose for prayer. When he was at the door, he was met with a large dish containing bread and meat. He went back with his companions, and he ate and they ate. Then he returned to prayer and did not perform ablution.
