✧ Recitation and supplication in the prayer over the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ:
التَّكْبِيرَةُ الْأُولَى عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ ثَنَاءٌ عَلَى اللهِ، وَالثَّانِيَةُ صَلَاةٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، وَالثَّالِثَةُ دُعَاءٌ لِلْمَيِّتِ، وَالرَّابِعَةُ تَسْلِيمٌ
Translation
✧ The first takbir over the deceased is praise of Allah, the second is a prayer upon the Prophet ﷺ, the third is supplication for the deceased, and the fourth is the salutation (taslim).
