✧ Recitation and supplication in the prayer over the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ:
صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَقَرَأَ فَاتِحَةَ الْكِتَابِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّهُ مِنْ تَمَامِ السُّنَّةِ أَوْ إِنَّهُ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ
Translation
✧ I prayed with Ibn Abbas over a funeral, and he recited the Opening of the Book. I mentioned it to him, and he said: 'It is part of the complete Sunnah, or it is from the Sunnah.'
