✧ Recitation and supplication in the prayer over the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ:
كَيْفَ تُصَلِّي عَلَى الْجَنَائِزِ ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: أَنَا لَعَمْرُ اللهِ أُخْبِرُكَ: أَتَّبِعُهَا مَعَ أَهْلِهَا، فَإِذَا وَضَعُوهَا كَبَّرْتُ وَحَمِدْتُ اللهَ وَصَلَّيْتُ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ أَقُولُ: " اللَّهُمَّ عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَابْنُ أَمَتِكَ، كَانَ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ، وَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ مُحْسِنًا فَزِدْ فِي إِحْسَانِهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مُسِيئًا فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْهُ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ وَلَا تَفْتِنَّا بَعْدَهُ "
Translation
✧ How do you pray over funerals? Abu Hurayrah said: I, by the life of Allah, will tell you. I follow it with its family, and when they place it down, I say the takbir, praise Allah, and send prayers upon His Prophet ﷺ. Then I say: 'O Allah, Your servant and the son of Your servant and the son of Your female servant. He used to bear witness that there is no god but You and that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger, and You know best about him. O Allah, if he was a doer of good, increase his good, and if he was a wrongdoer, pardon him. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not test us after him.'
