✧ Those Who Said One Does Not Perform Ablution from What Fire Has Touched

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ، سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ،
أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ، أَكَلَ طَعَامًا قَدْ مَسَّتْهُ النَّارُ، ثُمَّ مَضَى إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ قَالَ: وَلَا أَعْلَمُ إِلَّا قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ عُثْمَانُ: تَوَضَّأْتُ كَمَا تَوَضَّأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، وَأَكَلْتُ كَمَا أَكَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، وَصَلَّيْتُ كَمَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
Translation
✧ Uthman b. Affan ate food that fire had touched, then proceeded to prayer without performing ablution. He said: I think he said: Then Uthman said: I performed ablution as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution, ate as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate, and prayed as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed.
