عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ:
كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلَانِ: أَحَدُهُمَا يَلْحَدُ الْقُبُورَ، وَالْآخَرُ يَشُقُّ، فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالُوا: أَيُّهُمَا جَاءَ أَمَرْنَاهُ يَعْمَلُ عَمَلَهُ، فَجَاءَ الَّذِي يَلْحَدُ فَأَمَرُوهُ فَلَحَدَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ
Translation
✧ There were two men in Madinah: one of them made niche graves and the other dug trench graves. When the Prophet ﷺ died, they said, “Whichever of them comes, we will command him to do his work.” The one who made niche graves came, so they commanded him, and he buried the Prophet ﷺ in a niche.
