Translation

✧ Adam was a tall, dark-skinned, hairy man, as if he were a lofty palm tree. When death came to him, the angels descended with his embalming spices and his shroud from Paradise. When he died, they washed him with water and lote-tree leaves three times, and in the third they put camphor. They shrouded him in an odd number of garments, dug a lahd grave for him, prayed over him, and said: "This is the sunna of Adam's descendants after him."
