machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Isrāʾīl, from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Rufayʿ, from Shaddād b. Maʿqil, who said: I heard Ibn Masʿūd say:
✧ "The first thing you will lose of your religion is trustworthiness, and the last thing that will remain of your religion is prayer. People who have no religion will surely pray, and the Qurʾān will surely be snatched away from among you." They said: "O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, do we not recite the Qurʾān, and have we not fixed it in our maṣāḥif?" He said: "It will be taken up by night and removed from the hearts of men, and nothing of it will remain."
