✧ Do the desert dwellers pay it
5831 5793 - عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ مِثْلَهُ. متن مخفيجَلَسَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ قَبْلَ الْفِطْرِ بِيَوْمٍ أَوْ يَوْمَيْنِ فَقَالَ زَكَاةُ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ مُدَّانِ مِنْ قَمْحٍ أَوْ صَاعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَلْيُؤَدِّ الرَّجُلُ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ وَعَنْ وَلَدِهِ وَعَنْ رَقِيقِهِ قَالَ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ فَقُلْتُ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ قَالَ نَعَمْ أَلَا كَانُوا مُسْلِمِينَ وَلَا إِخَالُهُمْ
Translation
✧ Ibn al-Zubayr sat on the pulpit a day or two before fiṭr and said: Zakat al-fiṭr is due on every Muslim: two mudds of qamḥ, or a ṣāʿ of dates. Let a man pay on behalf of himself, his child, and his slaves. Abū al-ʿAbbās said: I said: And on behalf of the people of the desert? He said: Yes. Are they not Muslims? I think they are.
