✧ The first one who gave the khutbah then prayed

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ:
أَوَّلُ مَنْ قَدَّمَ الْخُطْبَةَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ مَرْوَانُ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا مَرْوَانُ خَالَفْتَ السُّنَّةَ، فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ: يَا فُلَانُ تُرِكَ مَا هُنَالِكَ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ قَضَى الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ رَأَى مِنْكُمْ مُنْكَرًا فَاسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ يُغَيِّرَهُ بِيَدِهِ فَلْيَفْعَلْ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِلِسَانِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِقَلْبِهِ، وَذَلِكَ أَضْعَفُ الْإِيمَانِ "
Translation
✧ The first one to put the khutbah before the prayer on the day of Eid was Marwan. A man stood up to him and said: O Marwan, you have opposed the Sunnah. Marwan said: O so-and-so, what was there has been abandoned. Abu Sa'id said: As for this one, he has fulfilled his duty. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.'
