Translation
✧ He attended the Eid with Umar b. al-Khattab, and he prayed before preaching without an adhan or an iqamah. Then he preached and said: 'O people, the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade fasting these two days: one of them is the day of your breaking the fast and your Eid, and the other is the day on which you eat your sacrificial animals.' He said: 'Then I attended it with Uthman, and that was on a Friday, and he prayed before preaching without an adhan or an iqamah. Then he preached to the people and said: "The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade fasting these two days: one of them is the day of your breaking the fast and your Eid, and the other is the day on which you eat your sacrificial animals." He said: 'Then I attended it with Uthman, and that was on a Friday, and he prayed before preaching without an adhan or an iqamah. Then he preached to the people and said: "O people, this is a day on which two Eids have come together for you. Whoever among you is from the people of the outskirts, we have given him permission to return, and whoever wishes may attend the prayer." He said: 'Then I attended it with Ali, and he prayed before preaching without an adhan or an iqamah. Then he preached and said: "O people, the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade that you eat your sacrificial animals after three nights, so do not eat them after that."'
