✧ A man coming while the imam is giving the khutbah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ تَوْبَةَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ شُرَيْحٍ قَالَ:
إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ أَتَى الْمَسْجِدَ فَإِنْ كَانَ الْإِمَامُ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ قَدْ خَرَجَ لَمْ يُصَلِّ، وَاحْتَبَى، وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْإِمَامَ، وَلَمْ يَلْتَفِتْ يَمِينًا، وَلَا شِمَالًا
Translation
✧ On Friday he would come to the mosque. If the imam had not yet come out, he prayed two rakʿahs. If he had already come out, he did not pray, but sat with his knees drawn up, faced the imam, and did not turn right or left.
