✧ What Invalidates Jumu'ah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
مَنْ أَدْرَكَ الْخُطْبَةَ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الْجُمُعَةَ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْخُطْبَةَ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَمَنْ دَنَا مِنَ الْإِمَامِ فَاسْتَمَعَ وَأَنْصَتَ كَانَ لَهُ كِفْلَانِ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَمِعْ، وَلَمْ يُنْصِتْ، كَانَ عَلَيْهِ كِفْلَانِ مِنَ الْوِزْرِ " وَمَنْ قَالَ: صَهْ، وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ، فَقَدْ لَغَا، وَمَنْ لَغَا فَلَا جُمُعَةَ لَهُ، أَوْ قَالَ: " فَلَا شَيْءَ لَهُ
Translation
✧ Whoever catches the sermon has caught the Jumu'ah, and whoever does not catch the sermon has caught the prayer. Whoever draws near to the imam and listens and remains silent will have a double portion of reward, and whoever does not listen and does not remain silent will have a double portion of sin. And whoever says, 'Hush,' while the imam is delivering the sermon has engaged in idle talk, and whoever engages in idle talk has no Jumu'ah—or he said, 'then he has nothing.'
