عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ قَالَ:
دَخَلَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسَأَلَتْ: مَنْ هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَ: أَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَتْ: " عُمَيْرُ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ، يَا أُمَّتَاهُ قَالَتْ: أَمَا بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَجْلِسُ، وَيُجْلَسُ إِلَيْكَ ؟ " قَالَ: بَلَى يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ: " فَإِيَّاكَ وَتَقْنِيطَ النَّاسِ وَإِهْلَاكَهُمْ
Translation
✧ 'Ubayd b. 'Umayr entered upon 'A'ishah and she asked: Who is this? He said: I am 'Ubayd b. 'Umayr. She said: "'Umayr b. Qatadah?" He said: Yes, O my mother. She said: "Has it not reached me that you sit and people sit with you?" He said: Yes, O Mother of the Believers. She said: "Beware of making people despair and destroying them."
