✧ People Sitting When the Imam Comes Out

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمَّا عَلَا الْمِنْبَرَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ: " اجْلِسُوا فَسَمِعَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَوْلَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ذَلِكَ، وَهُوَ بِالطَّرِيقِ لَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْمَسْجِدَ، فَجَلَسَ فِي بَنِي غَنْمٍ، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ دَخَلَ الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " أَلَا رُحْتَ ؟ "، فَأَخْبَرَهُ الْخَبَرَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " خَيْرًا
Translation
✧ When the Prophet ﷺ ascended the pulpit on Friday, he said, "Sit down." A man from the Ansar heard the Prophet's ﷺ words while he was on the road and had not entered the mosque, so he sat down among the Banu Ghanm. He said: When the prayer was established, the man entered, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Did you not go (to the mosque)?" So he told him the news, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Good."
