عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ:
مَنْ أَوَّلُ مَنْ جَعَلَ فِي الْخُطْبَةِ جُلُوسًا ؟ قَالَ: " عُثْمَانُ فِي آخِرِ زَمَانِهِ حِينَ كَبِرَ وَأَخَذَتْهُ رِعْدَةٌ، فَكَانَ يَجْلِسُ هُنَيْهَةً ثُمَّ يَقُومُ "، قُلْتُ: وَكَانَ يَخْطُبُ إِذَا جَلَسَ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا أَدْرِي
Translation
✧ Who was the first to introduce sitting during the sermon? He said: 'Uthman in his later days when he grew old and developed a tremor. He would sit for a little while, then stand.' I said: 'Did he deliver the sermon while sitting?' He said: 'I do not know.'
