✧ Delivering the Sermon While Standing

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ،
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِذَا اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَجْلِسُ، فَإِذَا جَلَسَ أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُونَ، فَإِذَا سَكَتُوا قَامَ يَخْطُبُ، فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الْخُطْبَةِ الْأُولَى جَلَسَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَخَطَبَ الْخُطْبَةَ الْآخِرَةَ
Translation
✧ On Friday, when the Prophet ﷺ settled on the pulpit, he would sit. When he sat, the muezzins would call the adhan. When they finished, he would stand and deliver the sermon. When he finished the first sermon, he sat, then stood and delivered the second sermon.
