عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
سَأَلَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَطَاءً: أَفِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ صَلَاةٌ ؟ فَلَمْ يُفَرِّقْ لَهُ عَمَّنْ مَضَى شَيْئًا، قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ: فَذَكَرَ لَنَا أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ خَرَجَ بِالنَّاسِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى وَدَعَا وَاسْتَغْفَرَ ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَانْقَلَبَ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ
Translation
✧ Sulayman b. Musa asked Ata': Is there a prayer in the rain-seeking? He did not distinguish for him anything from those who had passed. Sulayman said: It was mentioned to us that Umar b. al-Khattab went out with the people to the prayer place, supplicated and sought forgiveness, then descended and returned without praying.
