✧ When Are the Two Rak'ahs of Fajr Performed

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ جِئْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ حِينَ انْتَشَرَ الْفَجْرُ أُطَوِّلُهُمَا أَمْ أَحْذِفُهُمَا ؟ قَالَ: " طَوِّلْهُمَا إِنْ شِئْتَ مَا لَمْ يَخْرُجِ الْإِمَامُ
Translation
✧ I said to 'Ata': What do you think if I come to the mosque when the dawn has spread—should I lengthen the two rak'ahs or shorten them? He said: 'Lengthen them if you wish, as long as the imam has not come out.'
