✧ Prayer After the Break of Dawn

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ قَالَ:

قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ لِطَاوُسٍ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ بَعْدَمَا ذَهَبَ بَصَرُهُ يَسْأَلُ غُلَامَهُ عَنِ الْفَجْرِ، فَإِذَا أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ طَلَعَ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ

Translation

✧ Mujahid said to Tawus: O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, I saw Ibn 'Abbas, after he had lost his sight, asking his servant about the dawn. When the servant told him that it had broken, he prayed two rak'ahs and then sat.
