✧ Lying Down After Witr, and the Chapter on Voluntary Night Prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ يَضْطَجِعُ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَيُؤْذِنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ
Translation
✧ When dawn broke, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would pray two brief rak'ahs, then lie on his right side until the mu'adhdhin came and informed him that the prayer was due.
