عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ قَالَ:
جَاءَ نَفَرٌ إِلَى أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ ؟ فَقَالَ: " لَا وِتْرَ بَعْدَ الْأَذَانِ "، فَأَتَوْا عَلِيًّا فَأَخْبَرُوهُ، فَقَالَ: لَقَدْ أَغْرَقَ النَّزْعَ، وَأَفْرَطَ فِي الْفُتْيَا، الْوِتْرُ مَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ
Translation
✧ A group came to Abu Musa al-Ash'ari and asked him about Witr. He said, "No Witr after the adhan." They went to 'Ali and told him, and he said, "He has gone too deep in the matter and gone too far in giving the ruling. Witr is between you and the Fajr prayer."
