✧ May a Man Pray While Driving His Animal, and Shortening the Prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لَهُ: قَوْمٌ فِي سَفِينَةٍ يَقْصُرُونَ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، إِلَّا أَنْ يَخَافُوا الْغَرَقَ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: فَمَنْ كَانَ فِيهَا يَعْمَلُ، أَيَقْصُرُ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ
Translation

✧ I said to him: People on a ship—do they shorten? He said: No, unless they fear drowning. He said: I said: What about one who is working on it—does he shorten? He said: Yes.
