✧ A man goes out at the time of prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرِّشْكِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مِجْلَزٍ قَالَ:
كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، مَا الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللهِ ؟ قَالَ: " أَنْ تَجْعَلَ مَعَ اللهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ "، فَقَالَ أَيْضًا: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، مَا الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللهِ ؟ قَالَ: " أَنْ تَتَّخِذَ مِنْ دُونِ اللهِ أَنْدَادًا "، فَقَالَ أَيْضًا: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، مَا الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللهِ ؟ فَقَالَ: " أُحَرِّجُ عَلَيْكَ إِنْ كُنْتَ مُسْلِمًا لَمَا خَرَجْتَ عَنِّي "، فَخَرَجَ الرَّجُلُ، وَغَضِبَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ غَضَبًا شَدِيدًا قَالَ: فَقُمْتُ لِمَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ شِدَّةِ غَضَبِهِ لِأَخْرُجَ، فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِي عَلَى رُكْبَتِي فَقَالَ: " اجْلِسْ؛ فَإِنِّي أَرْجُو أَنْ لَا تَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، آتِي الْمَدِينَةَ طَالِبَ حَاجَةٍ، فَأُقِيمُ بِهَا السَّبْعَةَ الْأَشْهُرِ وَالثَّمَانِيَةَ الْأَشْهُرِ، كَيْفَ أُصَلِّي ؟ قَالَ: " صَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ
Translation
✧ I was sitting with Ibn 'Umar when a man entered upon him and said, 'O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, what is associating partners with Allah?' He said, 'That you make another god besides Allah.' He said again, 'O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, what is associating partners with Allah?' He said, 'That you take rivals besides Allah.' He said again, 'O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, what is associating partners with Allah?' He said, 'I adjure you, if you are a Muslim, to leave me.' So the man left, and Ibn 'Umar became very angry. He said: I rose to leave when I saw the intensity of his anger, but he put his hand on my knee and said, 'Sit; for I hope you are not one of them.' He said: I said, 'O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, I come to al-Madinah seeking a need, and I stay there seven or eight months. How should I pray?' He said, 'Pray two rak'ahs, two rak'ahs.'
