4393 4362 - عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، مِثْلَهُ.

سَأَلْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ زَمَانَ الْحَجِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ آتِي إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ وَفِيهَا جَدَّتِي وَأَهْلِي قَالَ فَقَالَ أَيُّ الْأَمْصَارِ أَفْضَلُ أَوْ قَالَ أَعْظَمُ ثُمَّ أَجَابَنِي فَقَالَ أَلَيْسَ الْمَدِينَةُ فَقُلْتُ بَلَى فَقَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَآتِي الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي وُلِدْتُ فِيهِ يَعْنِي مَكَّةَ فَمَا أَزِيدُ عَلَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ فَكُنْتُ أُقِيمُ سَنَةً أَوْ سَنَتَيْنِ أُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ أَوْ قَالَ مَا أَزِيدُ عَلَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ سند مخفيعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ فَقَالَ: سَأَلْتُ
Translation
✧ 4393 4362 - From 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ja'far b. Sulayman, from Asma', from al-Sha'bi, the like of it. Hidden text:[I asked al-Sha'bi at the time of the Hajj. He said: I said, I am coming to al-Kufah where my grandmother and family are. He said: He said, Which of the garrison towns is most virtuous, or he said, greatest? Then he answered me saying, Is it not al-Madinah? I said, Yes. He said, I asked Ibn 'Umar about that, and he said, I come to the house in which I was born—meaning Makkah—and I do not add more than two rak'ahs.
