✧ A man goes out at the time of prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ،
أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ مَسْرُوقٍ إِلَى السِّلْسِلَةِ فَقَصَرَ، وَأَقَامَ سِنِينَ يَقْصُرُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ: يَا أَبَا عَائِشَةَ، مَا يَحْمِلُكَ عَلَى هَذَا ؟ قَالَ: " الْتِمَاسُ السُّنَّةِ "، وَقَصَرَ حَتَّى رَجَعَ
Translation
✧ That he went out with Masruq to al-Silsila, and he shortened [the prayer], and he stayed for years shortening it. He said: I said to him, 'O Abu A'isha, what makes you do this?' He said, 'Seeking the Sunnah,' and he shortened until he returned.
