✧ When does a traveler shorten the prayer when he sets out on a journey

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا خَرَجَ حَاجًّا أَوْ مُعْتَمِرًا قَصَرَ الصَّلَاةَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ
Translation
✧ When Ibn Umar went out for Hajj or Umrah, he would shorten the prayer at Dhu al-Hulayfah.
