✧ When does a traveler shorten the prayer when he sets out on a journey

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ،
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْصُرُ الصَّلَاةَ حِينَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بُيُوتِ الْمَدِينَةِ، وَيَقْصُرُ إِذَا رَجَعَ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ بُيُوتَهَا
Translation
✧ He used to shorten the prayer when he left the houses of Madinah, and he would shorten when he returned until he entered its houses.
